Nesting in New York

A Roundup of My Favorite New York City Hotels

New York City this past week has been an absolute wave of positivity, between the fun, inclusive Halloween Parade in Greenwich Village, fans lined up along city streets to cheer on NYC Marathon runners, and wherever you sit on the political spectrum, there was no denying the enthusiastic energy in this city around the mayoral election. Record numbers came out to vote for their candidate of choice. So much energy in general this week, that New York City felt very much like her usual self. Electric, passionate, outspoken, welcoming and joyfully chaotic— so many of the reasons why I love this town.

In celebration of my home, which I often forget is exotic to millions of other travelers just as foreign destinations are to me, I write this month about some of my latest favorite hotels in the city. Some listed below are only a year or two old, but each have a unique style that fit the warmth, vibe, and local flavor that I very much look for myself when I travel. Keep in mind these are luxury hotels. If you are interested in 3-4 star accommodations, feel free to DM me. I plan to include these options in a future guide.

For each hotel below, I’ve conducted site visits and connected with their individual teams, so if you are planning a visit (or staycation) and would like more information about any of them, please ask! (Note that if you book with Wandernest, through our relationships we arrange additional benefits extended to you for your stay.)
