
Today in celebration of Mexico, we’re traveling to one of the country’s “Pueblos Magicos”: Todos Santos. This magical town is over an hour north of Cabo San Lucas, on the Pacific Coast of Baja California Peninsula. On this beautiful coast is the very special Hotel San Cristóbal.
There are certain destinations around the world I will always return to. Usually they involve a fishing village. There is an exceptional gastronomic element, no matter how rustic or refined. Places marked by an ethereal beauty and charm, with a warm spirit, and despite years of welcoming visitors, these areas somehow remain unspoiled. They are usually havens for artists, writers, and for those who embrace slow travel— often, they’re not easy to get to.
Todos Santos fell onto this list when I first visited for my dear friends’ destination wedding several years ago. It is indeed, enchanting. (The Mexican government grants the Pueblo Magico status to towns with “magical” qualities.) It’s a sleepy, surfer town, with a downtown featuring colorful art galleries and stylish, interesting boutiques for fun shopping.
But you come to Todos Santos for the beach life.
